My Biography
I was born in Srisaket province that is located at the northeastern part of Thailand. Our family was a middle class of society. If you imagine the life in rural areas, that was the same for my childhood. I have two brothers and one sister. They are all nice, helping me every times I want. Normally I played with my brothers but not with my sister because I was like a boy more than a girl. We didn't have a lot of toys as children in big cities. But we used things from the nature to play. That was the very precious time of my life.
Let talk about my education. I went to school in 1978.My primary school was Maree Uppathum, the christian school. I had a lot of memories at this school. Too much to tell. If you want to know more, ask me personally, ok? My life was dramatically changed after I finished the 6th grade from the primary school. At that time, almost people around me thought that I should stay in the same place, and finish my study there because they thought that I was unable to study for a high degree. But who know my future, right? However, my mom, my most beloved person, realized the importance of education. So she decided to send me to study in Bangkok, the capital city of Thailand.
I came to Bangkok and lived with my siblings and relatives who came to study. My life at the first year in Bangkok was tough but it was the turning point. I went to Panaphanhu Vidhaya school. There, I met a nice teacher, "Plernpid". I wanted to mention her name here because I was really grateful to her. So far this school was closed so I don't know where to contact, and say "Thanks" to her. I had to study very late at night every days. However, that was the way to change my personalities from a lazy student to , let say, a good student. In addition, I had good friends at this school. I have never forgot my life there. But when time passed, I finished my 3rd grade and had to move to another school. I passed the entrance examination to the Striwithaya II school. I finished my high school there.
Then I went to Kasetsart University for my undergraduate study. My major was Agricultural Product Development, Faculty of Agro-Industry or equivalent to Food Science and Technology. I selected this major for my first choice of the entrance examination because I didn't know what I wanted to be at that time. I only realized that it was something useful for my agricultural country. Time passed so quick. I graduated from the university with the first class honor to make my parent proud of me.
After I graduated my B.S., I started looking for a job, but with my fate, finally it turned me to be an instructer at my undergradute university, Kasetsart University. I made this decision because of many reasons, one thing was that I could transfer my knowledge to students, and thus help developing my country. However, with only B.S., it was not enough to teach students, I had to come to U.S.A. to get more knowledge and experience.
I decided to come to UC, Berkeley for my master's degree. It was very hard time for my life at the first semester in Berkley. I had never been far from my country and I was the first one in my family to come to US. However, before the secon semester started, I got a very good news, which made everyone in my family proud of me. I get Anandamahidol Scholarship, King Scholarship.
After one and a half year, I finished my master's degree from Berkeley. I had to make a decision what should I do next. With many considerations, which took me more than two months to come to the final decision, I decided to go to North Carolina State University, Raleigh. Many people asked me the same question, " Why I chose NC State U.?" It was really hard to answer them because I had more than 10 reasons. But one important thing was that I thought that I could do my dissertation on the field that was related to my future career. And actually, it was my fate that directed for me too. So far I think that I made a right decision.
Now it is my second year at NCSU. Let see what I am going to do and what my future will be....
