Abstract

This project concentrates on developing knowledge and capability about automatic control

system. The project is supported from industry which allows organizers to study problems that

occur in reality of the factory. When we has surveyed in processes of industry, we found that

most of the production line in this factory remains to implement by labor force. This situation

affects directly to product both low quality and producing delay as well. Therefore, the method

that can solve these problems effectively is developing the production line for labor force to

automatic or semiautomatic machine. This solution is presented to engineer in the factory and they

are consisted with it so the factory let the organizers to have a chance to present the solution by

building a prototyping machine which the factory can bring to modify for using in real situation in

the future. The important procedure that the organizers mention is the production line in cutting

copper tube to various lengths. Thus the organizers decided  to build the tube cutting machine

prototype for solving this problem. This machine prototype has outstanding advantages such as

cutting the copper tube to various length and quantity automatically, being able to switch between

automatic mode and manual mode, feeding the copper tube by speeding into two level. This

project is considerably useful for the organizers because it enhances our knowledge about

automatic control and we can also apply this knowledge to our work in industry.
