Abstract

          This senior project is to get perceptions of Programmable Logic Control (PLC) by using it

to control the operation of drilling machine prototype. The senior project receives support from

CI Group Company Limited (Ventilating Coil Manufacturer) they allow the organizers to realize

reality problems in drilling process. After survey and gather all information shows that they remain

to use human labors to drill iron tube. The effects are waste time cycle and raw materials and may

get low standard products. Therefore, the problem solution is to replace human labors with

automatic or semi-automatic machine. The organizers offer idea to CI Group Company Limited is

to building drilling machine prototype which the company can modify or improve it better and

proper for real use in the company. The operation of drilling machine prototype is when push start

button, the machine start to drill iron tube for three holes per row then rotates to next row and

drills three holes again, it is finished at two cycles and also has emergency stop. This senior

project is enhancing knowledge about Programmable Logic Control (PLC), mechanic and

electronic field. It is advantageous for the organizers and can also apply the knowledge to other

related jobs.
