In addition to the
conference, delegates are invited to take tours of Miyagi and Yamagata
Prefectures in the post conference tour. The tour fee includes transportation,
lunch, entry to Onsen bath, etc.
9.30 - Leave from
Sendai by bus
10.30 - Visit to Yamadera
temple in Yamagata prefecture, climbing 1,100 stone steps. Climbing up
and down would require about one hour.
11.30 - Lunch: Soba
- Japanese buckwheat
14.00 - Bath in Japanese
On-sen: Open air hot-spring. (15 mins walk from bus)
15.45 - Visit to Mt.Zao
's Crater Zao quasi-national park

The park is located in the center of the Zao Mountain Range, being the border of Miyagi and Yamagata prefectures. You can enjoy the beauty of nature here. The mysterious Okama crater lake is also called Goshiki-numa, meaning five-color marsh since its water color changes several times in a day. |
16.30 - (optional,
if time allows) Visit the Miyagi Zao Kokeshi Museum, displaying the traditional
kokeshi dolls and lacquered toys by prefecture, style and craftsman.
18.00 - Back to Sendai
