Welcome to mESE

Ecology: ecology is the study of interactions among organisms and between organisms and their environment. (Stiling, 2012)

Systematic: the scientific study of the kinds and diversity of organisms and of any and all relationships among them. (Sneath and Sokal, 1973)

Evolution: evolution in sexually reproducing organisms consists of genetic changes from generation to generation in populations, from the smallest local deme to the aggregate of interbreeding populations in a biological species. (Mayr, 2001)
