    Economics involves in an analysis to optimize swine production along with maximize profits with respect to particular (constraints) resources of commercial swine herds.

    Biosketch :   Dr. Nitipong Homwong was born in Thailand, where he earned his degree with Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Kasetsart University in year of 2005. As soon as obtaining his degree, Dr. Homwong has become a faculty member at the same university as he earned his DVM degree. In year of 2010, he had come to enroll and train in Swine Program at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. By 2016, he earned the doctoral degree (PhD) with focusing on swine science and swine diseases under supervision of Prof. Dr. John Deen at the University of Minnesota Swine Disease Eradication Center and Department of Veterinary Population Medicine, United State of America. After Dr. Homwong has been back to Thailand, he in 2019 and 2021 was certified as Diplomate Thai Board of Veterinary Public Health (DTBVPH) and Diplomate Thai Board of Veterinary Medicine (DTBVM) by the College of Veterinary Specialties of Thailand. During being a PhD Student, Dr. Homwong had extensive academic training in Statistics and Economics, especially for Bayesian Statistics at School of Statistics, Division of Biostatics and Department of Agricultural Economics, and extensive doctoral training in swine nutrition and management at the University of Minnesota Department of Animal Science and feed manufacturing at North Dakota State University North Crops Institute. He is interested in swine health, medicine and economics, involving in herd health management (gut health, hoof health), clinical nutritional sciences, nutrition-related diseases and profitability in commercial swine herds.
      He had intensively academic training in Statistics and Economics, especially for Bayesian approach at School of Statistics, Division of Biostatics and Department of Agricultural Economics, extensively doctoral training in Swine Nutrition and Breeding at Department of Animal Science as well as Food Defense at School of Public Health and Feed Manufacturing at North Crops Institute.
