Yongyut Trisurat is a Professor of Forestry and Director of Biodiversity Center at Kasetsart University in Bangkok, Thailand. He received PhD in natural resources management and conservation from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in Thailand. He was awarded scholarships to serve as visiting scholar at Freie University Berlin, Germany in 1995, University of Hawaii and the East-West Center in 2005, University of Leeds, UK in 2011, University of Gottingen, Germany in 2012, University of Turku, Finland in 2013 and University of Natural Resources and Life Science, Austria in 2014. He worked for ten years as a park official for the Royal Forest Department. Yongyut Trisrat has been active in the area of biodiversity conservation planning, landscape ecology, climate change and GIS modeling for over 20 years and a frequent contributor to several international agencies (e.g., ADB, CIDA, DANCED/DANIDA, ITTO, IUCN, UNEP, WWF), government offices (e.g., Royal Forest Department, Department of National Park, Wildlife and Plant Conservation) and NGOs. His current research involves biodiversity conservation, climate change and ecosystem services. In addition, he has published a number of peer-reviewed articles and book chapters on these subjects. Yongyut Trisurat was the Chief-Editor of the book entitled “Land Use, Climate Change and Biodiversity Modeling: Applications and Perspectives”, which appeared at IGI-Global Publisher in USA in 2011. |
