Sharing Files with Unrestricted Access
Windows Vista/Server 2008 has had special folders (public folders) for file sharing available from the beginning. Set up unrestricted shared folders using the public folders.
Sharing Public Folders
1.
From the [Start] menu, select [Control Panel] and click [Set up file sharing].
2.
Click on [] next to [Public folder sharing].
3.
Select [Turn on sharing so anyone with network access can open, change, and create files], and then click [Apply].
Do not select [Turn on sharing so anyone with network access can open files]. If this is selected, it will not be possible to save scanned documents as files in the shared folders.
After the message [If you understand the security risks but want to share files without running the wizard, click here] appears, click on it.
When [User Account Control] appears
Click [Yes] or [Continue].
4.
Click on [] next to [Password protected sharing].
